Bracketology Game Types: Advanced

Select a team of contestants each week and win (or lose!) points based on things they say or do, outlined in the rules below. You will set a new lineup for every episode, and you can choose the same contestants or mix it up each time. Picks will lock for each episode when the episode starts in Eastern Time.

Point categories that can be included in a season are as follows:

One Time Bonuses/Penalties

These can only be received by one contestant, one time during the season. Once a bonus has been awarded, it will be crossed out & is no longer available for the rest of the season.

Positive Points

Once per episode: Can be earned once per episode, by multiple contestants. The most common way for a contestant to earn points.

Multiple times per episode: These can be received as many times as applicable. Multiple contestants can score these points AND the same contestant can receive points for every time the action is completed during the episode.

Negative Points:

Once per episode: Can be deducted once per episode, from multiple contestants.

Featured Points:

There will occasionally be points that can only be scored in certain episodes or weeks. Examples of this are Season Premiere-only, and the Patreon Rule of the Week, where our Patrons get a small influence over the week’s outcomes by suggesting a rule for the specific week.
